At SCOPES Marseille, Dorian Renard unveiled two unique art pieces. Freely drawing inspiration from the form of a hot air balloon chandelier, ‘L’Anémone’ reflected the color palette of the festival. In a more organic approach, the ‘Intertwined Body’ lamp was made with blown plastic paired with an oak base. Cultivating an experimental sculptural practice, the Marseille-based designer plays with balance, transparency and distortion. Fascinated by glasswork, the designer revels in contrasts and paradoxes, ingeniously repurposing traditional techniques to manipulate plastic or low-cost materials. His work encourages us to bend and twist our perception of beauty.
