With a passion for the iconic Moog synthesizer that defined the sound of the 70s, she crafts a sunny sonic landscape in her mixes navigating between genres, from Italo disco to 70s progressive rock to new wave. Catch her the afternoon of Saturday 27 for a warm and dancey set until the early evening.

GETTING STARTED AT JUST 10 YEARS OLD, THE SINGER, SONGWRITER AND MODEL OF ANTIGUAN AND JAMAICAN DESCENT WAS ALREADY WORKING HER CRAFT. NOW, A DECADE LATER, GROWN AND TOURING MULTIPLE NATIONS, SADBOI IS KNOWN FOR THE HEAVY CARIBBEAN INFLUENCE SHE BRINGS TO TORONTO’S HIP HOP HISTORY. CONNECTING HER LIVED EXPERIENCES TO A PERSONA TAILOR MADE FOR THE INTERNET GENERATION, SADBOI HAS AMASSED AN ARMY OF LOYAL FANS.

Southway Studio & Friends

Based in Marseille's 9th arrondissement at the Pavillon Southway, the uncategorizable and multifaceted Southway Studio excels in curating, producing artworks and hosting artist residencies. For SCOPES Marseille, the artistic duo Bella Hunt & DDC will be in charge of creating the festival stage under the artistic direction of Emmanuelle Luciani. Conceived narratively, the stage will come alive with the performances of artists closely associated with Southway Studio in a dystopian ode to technology that will take the form of a sculptural and aerodynamic installation.

Maraboutage

Internationally famous for their wild parties, Maraboutage collective has become a fierce symbol of Marseille’s diversity and restlessness. From dancehall to baile funk or afrorave, their high quality lineups are warm representations of contemporary global dancefloor music. The local crew of DJs and performers wants to create a space of freedom and letting go. This year, SCOPES Marseille will be welcoming their new INDIGO show – a cabaret combining dance, set design, live act, costumes and dj sets. Expect a transversal and deeply therapeutic experience!

COUCOU CHLOE + housewife9

COUCOU CHLOE is a vocalist and music producer twisting experimental distorted electronics and industrial hip hop vibes with dark, gritty, sassy lyrics. Born in the south of France, the now London-based artist collaborates with underground stars such as Shygirl or Sega Bodega with whom she cofounded the influential label NUXXE. She will perform live with dj housewife 9 for SCOPES Marseille.

ORISHA

Originally from Marseille, ORISHA is the visionary creator behind the project ROAD TO PANAMA. With her solid experience in tourism and event planning, she builds bridges between electronic music and Panamanian culture. When she's not behind the decks, she dedicates all her energy to showcasing the culture and richness of this country. For SCOPES Marseille, she will deliver a joyful and dancey set, full of indie gems and afro house beats.

Rorre Ecco

Dj Rorre Ecco has been making the night birds of Marseille dance for many years now. Diehard southerner, she is a resident of several local party events. Her sets are a joyful explosion of genres, mixing funk and disco as well as house and techno. On Sunday April 28th be ready, as she will take us into a musical journey with an extended set for the SCOPES festival.

Jäde

Based between Lyon and Paris, the rapper Jäde crafts a sweet neo-RnB sound with ethereal synth layers and light drum machines blended with some breakbeats. Through sharp and sensual lyrics, she delivers romance and daily life intrigues with finesse, nonchalance and humor. The French rising artist will perform live for SCOPES Marseille.

Angelphroot x Dameer

Make music, play music, and bring a new wave of South Asian vibes front and center. That’s the plan for DJs and musicians Angelphroot and Dameer. At SCOPES Toronto the creative duo will take the stage to debut a new single and flood the night with the underrepresented sounds that define their practice.
