Make music, play music, and bring a new wave of South Asian vibes front and center. That’s the plan for DJs and musicians Angelphroot and Dameer. At SCOPES Toronto the creative duo will take the stage to debut a new single and flood the night with the underrepresented sounds that define their practice.
Angelphroot, a self-confessed raver, and Dameer, a house and techno artist blending a heavy dose of Bengali influence into every set, both thrive in the DIY scene. A wave of energy and sense of community that has to be built brick-by-brick, that’s often self-hosted, and always built by friends. Both artists are thrilled to bring their unique style to the Porsche SCOPES stage, and couldn’t be happier that admission is free. As Angelphroot put it, “I strongly believe that the commodification of the rave has prevented so much potential talent out there from finding their community.”
